ATTENTION Government Contractors!

*Abolere applauds government contractors who ensure that human trafficking and forced labor does not take place in their government contracts.

U.S. Government contractors are awarded contracts to provide valuable products and/or services to the nation. Abolere understands that some may not have an understanding of how to prevent human trafficking in their government contracts.

In order to fulfill your legal and contractual requirements to ensure that human trafficking and forced labor do not occur in your government contract, Check out the following web sites as a starting point to help you develop methods for your particular situation.

Suggestions to prevent forced labor in government contracts can be found in the Recommendations section of the Victims of Complacency report compiled by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the Allard K. Lowenstein International Human Rights Clinic at Yale Law School (see pages 57-61).
When clicking on the following link, you leave Abolere’s web site and go to the ACLU web site for the full report mentioned above. https://www.aclu.org/sites/default/files/field_document/hrp_traffickingreport_web_0.pdf

Also Click-on the following link to go to the Center for Strategic and International Studies to view the video and download the transcript of their Report. Recommendations for avoiding forced labor are at the end of the Report
Forced Labor Around the World

While each contract and situation may be different, Abolere believes in the ability of government contractors to succeed in their efforts to stop this type of forced labor.

* A rule of thumb for contractors to keep in mind: U.S. labor standards should apply when U.S. taxpayer dollars are involved.

We wish you success in your efforts.
